A practical summer training class for teenagers and adults who want to build confidence, learn performance skills, understand storytelling, and experience the filmmaking process.

July 6 – August 17

Monday to Thursday training for 6 weeks.

  • Teenage Cohort: Ages 13–17

The Program

Built for beginners. Designed for real creative growth.

Students will learn by doing through practical exercises, group work, acting drills, camera practice, storytelling sessions, and a final creative showcase.

Acting Training

Voice, expression, movement, character work, confidence, audition basics, and scene performance.

Filmmaking Skills

Storytelling, directing, camera basics, shot composition, production roles, and visual planning.

Final Project

Students work in teams to create a short film and participate in a live showcase at the end of the program.

Two cohorts. One practical curriculum.

Each cohort follows the same training structure, with separate class times for teenagers and adults.

Filmmaker | Creative Director | Founder of Anthill Studios

Niyi Akinmolayan is one of Africa's most respected contemporary filmmakers, known for blending strong storytelling, technical excellence, and bold creative vision. He is the founder of Anthill Studios and has directed and produced major African films including The Wedding Party 2, Chief Daddy, Prophetess, Mikolo, and Lisabi: The Uprising. His work spans cinema, animation, immersive theatre, and creative entrepreneurship.

Beyond filmmaking, Niyi is the creator of Immersia Theatre and the director of the Ottawa Jollof Festival, using storytelling, food, culture, and community to create powerful audience experiences across Africa and Canada.

At Ottawa Film School, Niyi brings real-world industry experience, practical creative training, and the mindset of a filmmaker who has built stories, studios, and cultural platforms from the ground up.

Victoria Akujobi is a skilled production professional with experience across film, television, and creative project management. With training from Algonquin College and a strong background in production, Victoria brings a practical, hands-on approach to teaching young and emerging creatives how real film sets work.

She has worked across key areas of production, helping guide projects from planning to execution with discipline, creativity, and attention to detail. Her award recognition and industry experience reflect her commitment to excellence, collaboration, and professional storytelling.

At Ottawa Film School, Victoria helps students understand the practical side of filmmaking, from preparation and teamwork to production confidence, while encouraging them to discover their creative voice.
